William Blackfox Awards

Greetings, all!

The results of the 2015 William Blackfox Awards are in, and the Middle Kingdom had a win and a commendation. The Blackfox Awards honor excellence in print publications across the Society, and this is the Midrealm’s best showing in several years.

Syr Gunnar Redboar won for Best Written Contribution to a Kingdom Newsletter for his epic poem “The Lay of Kari’s Deed” in the November 2014 issue of The Pale. The lay recounts a deed of arms by Sgt. Kari Garanhirson at Red Dragon in October 2014. You can read it on Syr Gunnar’s Facebook page or in the online edition of The Pale for November 2014.<

Lady Brighid Red Spears received a commendation (second place) for Best Artwork for her cover illumination for the Winter 2015 issue of The Vigil, the Barony of Middle Marches newsletter. The artwork celebrates the birth of the son of the Baron and Baroness and is posted below.

Congratulations to Syr Gunnar and Lady Brighid!
