Greetings unto the Middle Kingdom College of Heralds and the populace of the Midrealm from Meister Konrad Mailander, Rouge Scarpe Herald,
This is a reminder that as of April first new heraldry forms went into effect for the Kingdom. Any new submissions need to be on these new forms.
Please discontinue the use of all old forms. The new forms should have Laurel v. 3.0; Middle v1.0 (Laurel Approved 10 Dec 2014) at the bottom of the form and “v3_rev1” as part of the file name. These are the forms currently available on the Middle Kingdom Heraldry website.
It has been nearly two months since this has gone into effect and we are still receiving submissions on the old forms.
Heralds please go through your supplies and remove or mark old forms so that they do not get used. If you have the blank forms saved to your computer go through and replace them with the new forms.
Using the wrong forms is a cause of administrative return by Escutcheon. We would really like to avoid having to return a submission to be redone simple because the wrong form was used.
Please pass this missive on to your groups.
In Service I Remain,
Konrad Rouge Scarpe
Citizens of the Midrealm,
After a hard fought Crown Tournament, the Heirs to the Dragon Throne have been decided! Congratulations to Their Highnesses Nikolai and Serena! To that end, Their Highnesses will need events at which to hold Their Coronation and Crown Tournaments.
The bidding window to host those events is now open. Coronation is to be held September 26th and Crown Tournament shall be held on October 17th.
Deadlines for bids will be June 13th for Coronation and June 20th for Crown Tournament.
Bids should be emailed to myself at and also to the Middle Kingdom Seneschal
I am happy to review bids and give feedback before you submit them for final approval. If you have questions, please feel free to email me. If you are curious about what hosting one of these events entails, please see the linked document.
In Service to the Midrealm,
HL Gwalchmai ap Bledig called Maleachi
Kingdom Event Coordinator

A message from the Society’s Office of Information Management and Technology
Due to unidentified difficulties, some e-mail messages submitted to ‘’ after 6:00am EST and before 3:00pm EST on Tuesday, April 14th, 2015 were approved for release to the list, but did not make it into the list’s archive. (more…)
Effective immediately – You are no longer required to have an SCA membership to ride at Official practices (unless you are authorizing at a practice). You also no longer need to have a membership to ground crew. You will still be required to have a valid SCA membership to authorize and ride at events. We are keeping more in line with heavy fighting/rapier. All participants must still sign the equestrian waiver if they wish to participate in equestrian activities, including ground crewing.
If you have printed off the 2015 handbook, just get a marker and cross out the requirement for ground crew/practices. I will be updating the handbook and re-releasing it in the next few days.
