From the Kingdom Exchequer, January AS LI

exchequersmGreetings unto the Exchequers and populace of the Middle Kingdom

As you read this missive it is the beginning of a new calendar year and the end of our fiscal year. There have been changes over the past year to policies, procedures, and people in various positions. Some of these changes have been easy while others have been more challenging to implement and accept.

I understand that this is a volunteer organization and sometimes our “real lives” must take precedence over our SCA lives. I am in the same position as the rest of you – a full time job, family, and, in my case, a farm. When we decide to take on this position, we need to be cognizant of the responsibility that we are taking on with all of the attendant policies and procedures that we must follow. We must be the person who is communicating this information to our fellow officers and the populace at large. (more…)

From Their Majesties, January AS LI

King sm crownGreetings to the Midrealm from Edmund and Kateryn

As the calendar turns from 2016 (an “interesting year” judging by the old Chinese proverb) into 2017, We hope to find you and yours in good health and good cheer. The New Year, for many, signifies the beginning of something new, a fresh start, a chance to start from a blank slate. The last vestiges of pine linger in our homes, and our minds turn to what we will accomplish during the year to come. We hope to do all We can to make 2017 a better year than 2016 and We hope the same for everyone. (more…)

From The New Earl Marshal

Happy Yule!

I would like to thank all of the Marshals, Clerk of the Roster, List Ministers for all the hard work, time, reporting, and service that goes into making the SCA dream safely happen.

I would like to thank Sir Gregoire de Lyon for serving the Middle Kingdom as Earl Marshal. He helped coordinate the kingdom martial activities and answered so many questions on the various multi-media platforms during his very effective time as Earl Marshal.
